OUR COMPANY
Harsco Metals Polska Sp. z o.o. - limited liability company ("Harsco Metals Polska") was established in 2009. Previously, the company was known as Alexander Mill Services International.
We are leading manufacturer of road aggregate and pit scrap from steel slag. In addition, we also provide specialized services to the iron and steel mills.
We have commenced activity in July 1994 by signing contract
with Lucchini Warsaw Steel Mill, and within the same year we have
concluded another two contracts with “Ostrowiec” and “Zawiercie” Mills.
Steel slag is a metallurgical waste obtained during steel
production in steel plants, and it contains 4% to 11% of metallic
components, which upon reclaiming can be reused in steel melting
process as a pit scrap.
Harsco Metals Polska evacuates molten slag from steel plant using specialized
machines, cools it down and next hauls it to our on-site plant for
processing.
The slag left after metal separation is crushed and screened into
individual size fractions. This produced aggregate is used in road
construction and civil engineering sectors.
At present we have plants in Warsaw (inside the "Lucchini Warszawa"
Mill), Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski (inside the "Celsa Ostrowiec" Mill), Zawiercie (inside the "CMC Zawiercie" Mill) and Bytom (pile of the ex-Mill "Zygmunt"), as well as in Portugal and Romania.
In addition to slag from the current steel plant production, we also
handle slag processing from metallurgical and foundry piles, which so
far has created large problems for the environment and for local
development.
In this way we contribute to improve the conditions of our natural environment and protect resources of natural stone.
From the very beginning Harsco Metals Polska respects all environmental
regulations. The road aggregates produced by our company satisfy
ecological and quality requirements of the Polish Standard PN-B-11115 of 1998, which we had initiated and co-authored.
